ANd what is up with it ending at 1 am, is there an after party somwhere??? Geez that totally sucks, New York, totally doesnt start till about Midnight and ends at like 8-9am.

we are planning an all-night after party due to the unfortunate timing that it has to end at 1am, its becus the venue doesn't allow all nite events. Sorry for any inconvenience, the place of the after party will soon be disclosed as days of the event gets closer...

This party is located on 3250 Commercial Drive, Vancouver B.C close to the Broadway skytrain station. The name of the venue is : Croatian Cultural Centre. The more easier way is taking Kingsway and go towards West and when you hit Victoria, make a right turn at the traffic light (there should be a MacDonalds restraunt on the right side of you) and keep going straight and you should see the venue on the right side of you very soon after you are somewhere close to the skytrain trail. We did.

It was called "Fractured". For those who went you know what I'm talking about.

We threw it in an old gutted out BC Hydro substation (aka BIG fucking warehouse). With amazing production (a bunch of intellibeams... otherwise known as the big ass lights in the Plaza) and a killer whitelight laser tunnel.

I rest my case.

P.S. ~ We (Ryan and myself) weren't being "bitter" about the laser comment we were seriously just wondering what kinda gear you were getting since we've worked with all the available lasers in the city for our parties and others.

in response to dreckis, you silly r4v3r hack, i wasn't being bitter before, i was merely stating a fact. learn your shit before you run your mouth. lots of promoters brag about getting world class lasers and then show up with some piddly little DPSS YAG or some ALC piece of shit, masterplan's laser is decent, pretty bright, has a nice beam pattern but it's not as tight as it could be (and it's masterplan, c'mon, seriously, the only decent techs that work for them quit when they graduate from high school).

World class lasers:

Infinity 2000 YAG:Nd running at 40 watts (Q-Switched) rated pump power, pretty much the shit of the shit for beam projection, not to great on graphics because of the Q-Switch ocillator (when i was working with this one i saw it hit 75 watts with a special freq. doubling crystal)

Coherent purelight 7 watt whitelight w/ ILDA 50k compliant PCAOM chip and cambridge galvos, REALLY sweet for graphics projection, it can actually do raster graphics well (as opposed to vectors). Not nearly as bright as the Infinity 2000 but still a really sweet gas laser.

Any other 40 watt YAG or higher-end mixed gas tube will do for a beam, but after that it's all about the scanners and the (PC)AOM chip (PolyChromic Acousto-Optical Modulator) and the rest of the optics.

What is laseronics bringing up for you guys? we used that coherent whitelight with a beam splitter (instead of the PCAOM and galvo head)
