Live DJ program on bpm:tv
There is a live DJ / Dance program SpinCycle on bpm:tv www.bpmtv.com, for the first time. It will be on every Friday, starting around 4pm or maybe 430pm Vancouver time. Also there is a another live program on about 1 hour earlier, called Blender. Both programs will probably be rerun over the next few days. Both programs were 1/2 hour this week but I think SpinCycle is normally to be 1 hour.
Sydney Blu is guest DJ this week. For those who aren't familiar with bpm:tv, it is one of those specialty digital channels that started about 3 years ago, it is available on ExpressVu satellite channel 558 and some digital cable systems. bpm:tv is 100% about dance music and they play lots of music videos, and have some interview programs. Most of the videos are for video edit or radio edit mixes of Eurodance music that is a year old or more, since that is mostly what is available. They don't have a lot of original programs or new programs from external producers, because of financial constraints, so there are a lot of reruns. Last edited by tvmann; Sep 05, 03 at 05:38 PM. |

I won a Sylver double vinyl (several trance remixes of Livin' My Life) in a contest last winter.
Bpm has a contest now where you have to make a video of yourself doing an impression of a Scooter song (or maybe video). The prize is Scooter DVDs, CDs, and record slipmats. |

Mostly bpm:tv plays Euro vocal trance music videos because that's what is available. So there's a lot of cheese (OK with me). The videos are mostly not on MuchMusic or MTV. BTW some of the videos are spicey, there's a Scooter one with topless scenes (a first in North America).
Dance / electronica is not big in Canada, so they don't have a lot of subscriber revenue and there's too many reruns. One of the better programs is Peak Hour, from Australia, covers raves down there, interviews etc - but they really need some fresh stuff as this is over a year old. BPM has some original programming, such as interviews done in Toronto with Mauro Picotto, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Marco V, etc. If anyone has some dance music that they want to promote, a music video is one way to do it, and you could get it on bpm:tv quite easily I think. I'd really like to make one. ----- For that Scooter contest, you have to make a video max 1 minute of your impression of a Scooter song or music video - I can borrow a video camera - but I don't want to be in it so I'm gonna get a friend to be the "actor". They want something funny looking or sounding, I think. :c-tard: |
