AGROculture presents GHETTOBLASTER A Rhythm Nation Up Party Its time to do something different! Our party scene needs a wake up call! It needs some vibrancy, and to get that Vibrancy it needs something DIFFERENT! I’ve been conceptualizing lately to find out exactly what would bring an incredibly high amount of energy to a party. Like many of previous events we’ve thrown, I will not settle for anything less than legendary!. I’ve hand selected some of the best of the best of Vancouver’s local Dj’s, and asked them to dig way deep into their crates and spin a mix of everything from Disco to Classic Rock, 80’s Classix to Oldschool Hip Hop, Breakbeats to House & Trance, Drum n Bass to 70’s Funkadelic stuff, anything they can think of! and to incorporate it all into every set! To others, he’s a seasoned entrepreneur, as the founder and head of his second successful company. To his mom, he’s just Dave Shayman, your friendly neighborhood white Jewish kid. No matter who you ask, it’s apparent that 21-year old DJ, producer, and international Ghettotech sex symbol Disco D has made quite the impact. Disco D has been on the lips of some of the top writers, artists and label executives in the business for some time. He has been a media poster child, gracing the cover of XLR8R and being featured in Details, Urb, Mixer, CMJ, and Wired, as well as being named one of the “Top 100 Artists of 2001” by Alternative Press. His records have been played by a virtual who’s who of the international DJ community – from Dave Clarke, to Bad Boy Bill, to Laurent Garnier. His releases for labels like !K7, Mixconnection Multimedia, Intuit-Solar, and his own ventures GTI Recordings and Booty Bar Records, receive constant airplay from Detroit-area urban mixshows and spins from DJs around the world. Additionally, D has great notoriety as a killer remixer, having laced tracks for such mainstream giants as 8Ball and MJG and Lords of Acid. D is currently hard at work on his debut full-length artist album. Tentatively titled “Free Your Ass”, the album serves to smash the boundaries between urban and electronic music, combining the hottest Ghettotech beats with collaborations from some of the top rap artists in the world. Collaborations have already been completed with platinum-selling Chi-Town legend Twista, European darling Princess Superstar, and Kid-Rock protégé Paradime, with more on the way. This project is D’s most ambitious work to date, and will destroy any preconceived notions existing about the genre. D’s newest company, Booty Bar, is the first lifestyle brand based solely around Ghettotech music and culture.
