New Years 2004 Line-Up!
Twisted Productions and Swing Kids Entertainment present...
NEW YEARS 2004! Swing Kids Entertainment and Twisted Productions invite you to join us for an evening of enchantment, a night without sleep. On the last night of the year, forget the bad, remember the good, and Celebrate the future. Bring your friends and your positive energy -- join us in what will surely be a night to remember. MAIN ROOM: DJ SWAMP!, LA - www.djswamp.com – Decadent Records CONFIRMED BOOKING - check out his website!!! We missed him at Spooky 8, and we knew how badly Vancouver wanted to see him, so we couldn’t wait any longer for the man many consider to be the most incredibly talented DJ in the world. SWAMP has been a DJ for more than 15 years and he took the title of USA DMC CHAMPION in 1996, his very first year involved with the contest. Known for his turntablist antics (including breakbeats, scratching, juggling, and destroying LPs and vinyl without ever losing the beat), Swamp can turn a simple DJ show into something more than words can describe. In concert he's been known to cut himself with shards of shattered vinyl records, scratch a diamond-tipped phonograph needle across his tongue and blow fire. His unkempt long hair, black polished fingernails and aggressive antics make Swamp look more like a death metal dude than a DJ. And with his wild eyes, perpetual scowl, and scraggly beard and moustache, he could easily take home a Severed Head trophy in a Charles Manson lookalike contest…and that's just fine with him! PULSER, UK - Musicology, Godskitchen, Passion, Armada Andy Perring, a.k.a. Pulser, is becoming established as one of the most in-demand trance DJ's in the UK. He is one of a select few DJ's to headline at the UK's premier club Godskitchen, in addition to holding regular commitments for Slinky, Golden, Escape, and Peach. His first major release “Spiritualized” in 1999, under the name Olmec Heads, was a huge hit with all the major-league DJ's. The Olmec Heads, followed up with a string of top remixes for artists such as Moby, Apollo 440 and the Space Brothers before releasing their follow-up, a menacing trance tune called 'Magicman'. He then branched out on his own as Pulser with the mega hit “Cloudwalking”, establishing himself as a major new name in Trance. Pulser's latest production "My Religion" is arguably his best to date. The track will be the theme for one of the UK's most prestigious festivals "Global Gathering." Throughout this year Pulser has built a solid platform for himself in the process taking the steps toward establishing himself amongst clubland's elite, and living up to Godskitchen’s billing him as "The next Armin Van Buuren / Tiesto." GTR, UK - a.k.a. Gareth Emery www.garethemery.com – Influential, Five AM, Multiply, Lost Language “Boring DJ's beware, Gareth Emery is about to kick your ass” (Mixmag November 2002) Only a select few dance music artists make the jump from complete obscurity to international recognition in under a year, but that's exactly what 22 year old Southampton based DJ / producer Gareth Emery aka GTR achieved in 2002. A classically trained musician and ex-indie-rocker, Gaz initially caught the attention of the dance music scene when his first record, a cheeky white label bootleg of The Shrink's infamous classic “Nervous Breakdown” started to inflict serious mayhem on unsuspecting dancefloors everywhere. What started with only 100 copies, the track become a legend across Europe in no time. Following this, he put out the trance hits “Psiclone” and “Flood Control”, two uniquely individual tracks that put him on the music production map. His most explosive track by far came in the shape of 'Mistral'. Made entirely on a laptop computer over the course of a two week holiday, its funky groove and instantly recognizable riff immediately caught the attention of the big names like Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and of course Tiesto. His explosive popularity is something to definitely watch out for. MIKE DOWNEY, L.A. / Calgary – Goodfellas Ent. Mike has become one of the west coast’s most sought after Hard House / Hard Trance DJs. His pounding, mind blowing sets and flawless mixing are guaranteed to rock even the mildest crowds into a frenzy. Nicknamed “Knock ‘em Downey”, he will literally pound you into the dance floor. With locals: Azim (Twisted, Swing Kids) Tazix (Twisted, Swing Kids) Jimboski (Uh-Oh, Shy Bros.) Montana vs. Res (Twisted, fnk.ca) BREAKS/DRUM N'BASS ROOM: DJ DOPEY, Toronto - www.djdopey.com - CURRENT WORLD DMC CHAMPION! Having performed alongside the art form’s finest including such names as Q-Bert, DJ Craze, Mixmaster Mike, DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Beat Junkies, Scratch Perverts and The X-Ecutioners to name a few, DJ Dopey born Jon Ryan Santiago, has solidified his rank among the greatest in his field by, at the young age of 24, winning the coveted title of 2003 DMC WORLD CHAMPION. In addition to his DMC World title, other 1st place achievements he holds dear to him include the 2001 Allies All Star Beatdown put on by renowned turntablist crew “The Allies”, as well as the 2002/2003 Vestax Canadian Championships. In his 9 years of being a DJ, it’s safe to say that this young turntable musician / artist has accomplished a great deal. From “battling” his way to the top to performing alongside some of the world’s top DJ’s and musicians, DJ Dopey has also been working behind the production boards in support of his upcoming album entitled “DJ Dopey Presents…Scratch Works Vol.1” on Needillworks Ent., due to hit stores in 2004. Let’s welcome the new World DMC Champion! In a showcase battle vs. DJ G-NIUS, Van - CURRENT VANCOUVER DMC CHAMPION! We all know or have heard about G-Nius dominating the DJ battle scene - 3 time consecutive Vancity DMC champion, the 2000 ITF Champion and a Vestax Extravaganza finalist. G-Nius is preparing to step up in a battle showcase taking on the current world DMC Champion, DJ Dopey. This will be a display of G-Nius’s skill unlike you have ever seen or imagined! ATOMIC HOOLIGAN, UK - Botchit & Scarper, Menu, Addict, www.atomichooligan.com Terry Ryan from Atomic Hooligan in collaboration with his partner Matt Welch, have been meddling with everything breakbeat since the early 90's. Matt and Terry's attitude towards music is a new and refreshing one – they simply refuse to follow the path already walked! 2002-2003 has seen the Hooligan's profile rise exponentially, with guest DJ mixes on Kiss FM and Roni Size's “Sounds of Now” on Ministry of Sound Radio. Other high points for the boys this year have been mixing two compilations for the Hooligan's long time label Botchit and Scarper '4Vini' and 'Botchit Breaks 5', along with multiple DJ trips to Spain among other tours. Let’s welcome Terry as he commands the Vancouver stage for the first time in a 2 x 4 battle with Soda! DJ Swamp is for sure playing the Main Stage... we will have two camera's on him as well so you can catch all the fucked up shit we are going to do with him.
Sorry to those we disappointed... the reality is, we can't please them all... And with New Years talent being sooooooo expensive, we wanted to keep the show like this... All I can say, is wait till you see what we have planned in the coming months... |

Decent line-up. Pulser is awesome, both as a producer and a DJ, so those of you who like up-front uplifting trance will be very happy.
Props to Soda for finally getting some rave-scene recognition. Atomic Hooligan is pretty sweet too. Swamp.. meh. Not really sure I like the idea of mixing a breaks headliner with an otherwise all trance main room. From what I've heard from the Masterplan boys the production will be great though, so those of you attending will surely enjoy it. Props to Twisted for being the only other people in the city to bring in International talent for NYE. Most of the other NYE lineups are pretty wank IMO. |

Break beat dj headlining at main stage hmmm. I go to main stage for the trance and not break beats. So for the duration of Swamps set there wont be any trance played in the building which is the main music attraction? shitty
