So I've been pretty involved in...
The rave scene on Vancouver island, and am now thinking of moving to Vancouver.
I have decided I want to focus more on school and stuff and I think that moving to van will help me do that. I have afew friends over there so it won't be a 'whole new world' for me but I think it'll be just enough that I will actually be able to get school work done and not go out all the time (As i go out upto 3 times a week to support friends nights and such). What do u guys think? Am i making a big mistake? Don't get me wrong i do want to keep partying but maybe only once a week go out (to the bars and stuff). I figure i should start posting here (at least more often) if i plan on transfering over to what's goin on in vancouver instead of always chattin on the Rave.Victoria board. Anyways thats it! .Mary.

Well, I am an Island kid myself, but I have been getting involved in the Vancouver scene more and more....
Vancouver tends to have more club nights that I would really like to attend... as in the Adam Freeland show that happened last night (Which I unfortunatly missed, due to work) I love the vibe of the Van scene, as well as some of the amazing names they bring out. It's also really easy to make friends in the scene in Van... there is a lot less bitterness than the Island scene from what I have noticed... or maybe just because there are so many more people in the scene, I have managed to avoid it. Either way, I have been enjoying it more over there. Moving to Vancouver is something I am considering myself, since I want to attend Vancouver Film School... I say go for it.

I am doing my 2nd year..
..at capilano starting in jan-december then onto UBC I go!
I don't think i will party more there seeing as the only reason i go out in vic is to support my friends and see people that i don't normally make the time to see (im a hermet seeing as i have no phone and all) but if i live in van i wont have as many friends so I wont want to be going out all the time. Also my friends in van are alot older then my friends here .... which i think will make a difference in priority levels. .Mary.

Welcome to FnK... and as for partying less... I dunno, people are pretty friendly here. I had only a couple raver friends until I started partying, now I have people telling me that "You HAVE to come to xxxxx it's gonna be wild!" Not that I'm complaining as it's a pleasant break from work. But you'll see what we mean when you get here. Vancouver is fun. (I'm a former Islander myself as well.)

Well...
I don't really concider myself a raver or anything.. i go to partys but thats only because i worked at them/promoted for them or else i go to plaza party's (only afew) for a change. So i doubt ill be upto anything in van. Plus i'll have NO money when i move there.. always paying bills/food so i won't have any extra money to just throw around :P

I don't know what courses yet
Ive not even been accepted!! Im going to be ateacher eventaully so ill be taking english courses and theater (those are what im teaching) and find out what other things i need .. i think im getting my bachelors degree then going into education. I dont know requierments basically just have around 75 percent average or higher and its all abou thow many people apply and how smart u are.. just like every other college.

welcome to vancouver. i love the vancouver "club" scene, it's soo much cheaper than raving and u only get the dj u want to see(which i like). if u hit up ubc anytime soon PM me and i'll introduce u to some ubc ravers haha.

Well when i said i was involved...
I ment that i work the door at club nights, work at party's my friends throw and do promotion for them instead of really partying at them. I am usually posting on the rave vic board but i know how addictive boards can be :P

Ok girl! Like I've told you on numerous occasions, pack your bags and get outta there! OH AND...bring jaimie with you! Remember LONDON SEPTEMBER 2004 too! I know I know you're all freaked out about leavin the island...but you can always move back! Look at me for instance - moved & moved back! It's not that pricey if you decide you don't like it over here and decide to move back-but I promise ya will! Anyways, I'll talk to ya later about this. But I say GO FOR IT!
