If only they could have seen the Oilers towel at the beach on saturday. And the world is round apparently, so if you keep going west you would eventually get to edmonton. So technically Edmonton is west of Vancouver.

Actually, i'm just located in White Rock.....But i'm still considered an imigrant. You can't just move to a place this sweet and claim it as your own. You have to get your hair cut at adeebs, and get drunk at the OB. You have to barf over the pier , and go lawn bowling with the seniors.

So until then I'm still an Edmontonian.

This thread is hilarious. I never knew there were so many bitter ravers in Vancouver. I visit Vancouver from my home in good ol' ETOWN at least once a year because I have friends that live there. I think it's a very nice city but personally I would never want to live there. A couple reasons being 1) I don't think people in Van are as friendly as people here (which was perfectly demonstrated in this thread) and also 2) I don't think that the rave scene and hip hop scene has much of a vibe in Vancouver. All the parties I went to there consisted of 100's of people just sitting on the ground vegging out probably cause of all the drugs they took. The dance floor ends up being half the size because of all the damn people sitting everywhere. You seldom get that at Edmonton parties. Everyone's usually bustin' up a storm and many out of towners have said that we have the most amazing and unique dancers in Canada. Even my friends that came to visit me from Vancouver said that dancers in Edmonton were a lot better than the ones in your city. I think a huge part of that is because of the great music we have here. Our local dj's are so talented. Cartridge, Tryptomene, Tripswitch. Does anyone in Vancouver spin anything else besides house? ??? It seems like if one dj there switches the kind of music he spins, everyone just follows him. I've been to 3 hip hop club nights in Vancouver and it felt like I was being stared down by gangsters. No fun at all. Our hip hop scene is so inviting cause everyone knows each other and it feels like one big ol' house party. Last of all I just wanted to say come check out the Etown Rave Page. We would never tell anyone they weren't welcome on our site let alone diss their city just because they posted an innocent "Hello". Because here in ETOWN we know the meaning or respect!

I call bullshit on 90% of that post. I've lived here long enough to realise that the two "scenes" are pretty close to identical , just a few years apart in maturity. But haven't you heard? "The scene" is dead!

All the dancing comes courtesy of JIB!!!! (and thats why the people are so friendly too)

True Edmonton has talented dancers, but they all come from Camrose.

And don't take any of my posts too seriously, they are totally in jest.

Each city has its own nightlife to offer. I spent quite a long time hitting the afterhours in Edmonton a while ago and I have to say partying all night and going to the water park at west ed is AWSOME! Van's a bigger city though with more exposure to new and upcoming DJ's and promoters....Calgary and Edmonton can definately do for a "scene" injection but it's gotta start somewhere.

we're throwing a aprty in edmonton in september =)
first party there in almost 2 years.

bc is lucky that the governemnt isn't complete assholes to ravers.
Etown got shafted a few years back with the bylaw that restricts anything opening past 2 or 3 am.
none the less =) that's all a thing in the past.

and yes people in van are definately more bitter then people in edmonton. Main reason?

We have a governemt that thrives on money more then anything else. which hits everyone in their own way. their jobs, health, education, housing and so on.
