A couple reasons being 1) I don't think people in Van are as friendly as people here (which was perfectly demonstrated in this thread) and also 2) I don't think that the rave scene and hip hop scene has much of a vibe in Vancouver. All the parties I went to there consisted of 100's of people just sitting on the ground vegging out probably cause of all the drugs they took. The dance floor ends up being half the size because of all the damn people sitting everywhere. You seldom get that at Edmonton parties. Everyone's usually bustin' up a storm and many out of towners have said that we have the most amazing and unique dancers in Canada. Even my friends that came to visit me from Vancouver said that dancers in Edmonton were a lot better than the ones in your city. I think a huge part of that is because of the great music we have here. Our local dj's are so talented. Cartridge, Tryptomene, Tripswitch. Does anyone in Vancouver spin anything else besides house? ??? It seems like if one dj there switches the kind of music he spins, everyone just follows him. I've been to 3 hip hop club nights in Vancouver and it felt like I was being stared down by gangsters. No fun at all. Our hip hop scene is so inviting cause everyone knows each other and it feels like one big ol' house party. Last of all I just wanted to say come check out the Etown Rave Page. We would never tell anyone they weren't welcome on our site let alone diss their city just because they posted an innocent "Hello". Because here in ETOWN we know the meaning or respect!

yeah that, and the 6 month long periods of -40 degree weather make edmonton all the better place to live.
i jear the opposite from people from edmonton, essentially the story si that 3 eyars ago the rave scene imploded and only shitty bedroom dj's with enuff money to through there own events got to play out(kind fo liek van only with less talent) also they adored how vancouver promoters are actually able to pull in decent out of town guests.
also the reason why it feels like everyone knows eachother is because in edmonton they do, with less then half the population of vancouver what do you expect? also all those people staring you down actually were gangsters, be carefull in the parking lot...BOP BOP BOP!
