Tech-head visiting Vancouver
Hiya all - I'm visiting your fair city from Sydney Australia from 6-10 September. My company is putting me up in a fancy hotel, work is sorted - now I just need some people to play with! :077:
Can anyone recommend a good club? I'm mainly into techno (love your Misstress Barbara) but like good quality house, prog, d 'n b - the darker the better, really. Otherwise, just somewhere fun to dance with friendly people. Thursday 8th / Friday 9th are probably best - all recommendations gratefully accepted. Cheers! Am really excited about visiting Vancouver for the first time... |

I've always enjoyed fridays at The Red Room, good turn outs usully, and good house music. It's lighter, leaning towards funky you might say, but good fun.
I'm with mapleleaf4ever on the lotus thing, and wednesdays are good too, Deepen, deep tech-house For the dark side, or at least highly teched out, maaaybe Club 23 on friday, weekly event called Organix, it's goa-trance and the like, but I must say I have never been. I've been wanting to check it out, but something always scares me off, it's a bit of a jump from the clubbing I've been doing, and none of my friends want to go with me. I don't know if it's going to be sketchy or not, but maybe you like that. If the music and atmosphere is good, I don't pay much attention to anything else. Hey, I heard Mistress Barbara on the french radio station in vancouver a couple months ago, a program on electronica, and she was the key interview. They played some of her stuff, I agree, quite good. so how in the hell did you find FNK? Because you've come to the right place! |

Thanks guys, thats all good :)
teneighty - cheers for that - Red Room sounds cool. Organix might be a backup - don't mind some good goa-style trance. Deepen especially sounds good, might sneak out for a cheeky school-night dance, depends how tough my work schedule is. There is a d'n'b party on at Sonar (DJ Dara?) on your listings pages for Fri 9th- worth a look do you think? A couple of good suggestions, reckon that should do me. Thanks all - maybe see you on the dancefloor ;) TG PS: a little bird told me that for dance info in VA, FNK was the place to go - looks like birdie was right...
