Scene in Banff?

As of this Monday i'm going to be living in Banff. So far all i've heard is that it's got a big coke scene...which doesn't really tickle my fancy. Does anyone have any personal experience or info on the place? I'm just a bit curious as to what i'm getting myself into...

The pub scene there rocks. A fair number of live bands that are decent play regularly but for any good dancing music head into Calgary about an 1 1/2h drive. Where are you working? Resort or hotel?

Oh man...an hour and a half drive just to go dancing? Ouch! I don't have a job yet actually, I'm going to search once i get there.

It's some amazing scenery... lots of drunk Tourists and big Animals that like drunk Tourists.
