San Francisco Love Parade 2004
That was by far the most fun i think i have ever had djing! (and partying) Love Parade turnout amazing, about 70 thousand people probablly showed up, with about 30+ floats, and lots of amazing talent everywhere. The parade started around 2pm just when i was scheduled to come on, proceeded for about an hour and half to the fine destination where everyone parked and partied until after 9. It was funky playing on a moving car, once i got over the sun path (warping some recors) i represented the NW with a funky techno set. The day itself was simply amazing, great weather, total sun, a little bit of fog coming in at the end, over all beatiful. I guess what made everything even more fun was the people there, everyone was so nice, it amazed me, made me feel like times haven't changed from when i first started partying. It was cool to talk to people hear were they were from, or just bullshit around even in the lines to the bathrooms (which were horrible due to the fact that they only expected 20 thousand plus). There was just so much good music there it was hard to stay in one place, if there is another one, i'm defitivily flying down again.
I have a few pictures, not too many because my camera died early on my site, www.djjakub.com. here are some random ones http://www.djjakub.com/albums/sflp/IMG_1160.sized.jpg http://www.djjakub.com/albums/sflp/IMG_1170.sized.jpg http://www.djjakub.com/albums/sflp/IMG_1187.sized.jpg anyway, as far as the rest of the weekend, on friday we went to the John Selway show, which was a mistake, Selway played the worst electro set i ever heard, and in general the music was just way too bad to discribe. Personally i can only take so much of electro, and i can't stand the retro electro that is apprently hot right now. Anyway, i didn't get a chance to go out on saturday, because my flight was hella early in the morning and by the time i came back to the parade site to go to the Opel party there was a line a mile long, so we decided to avoid the parties all toghether that night, came back to the hotel room and recoverded form all the redbull and vodkas we consumed at the parade party site... Either way, it was an unforgatable experience! |
