open source and free. looks cool and all you need is soundcard with 2 inputs/2 outputs, serato vinyl and you are good to go.

im reading the wiki right now. they say its pretty damn stable

im sure my current config with my laptop could pull this off. it supports most midi interfaces!



and the best part is, it works on linux, mac and windows!

Neat. I'd really like to see them be able to work with an SSL box though, as I like the ability to switch between mp3-line-in and thru for swapping between mp3s and vinyl.

As with all OSS, it'll probably be another couple of years before it's competitive enough to keep up with the proprietary juggernauts... though it looks like a Torq box is useable?

pls report back to the class. It'd be all kinds of awesome if I could run an SSL alternative on a linux laptop. Now if only Ableton would port, I don't think I'd ever need a Windows box again!

torq licenses MSPinky timecode so likely they would have to get a license for that.

Personally, I still only really trust serato for my gigs - not just for stability but just also for UI...

i assume this would work with an SL-1 on a PC, as it functions as an ASIO sound card...

thing is... Serato's software is free also, so if you've already got the SL-1 i'm sure the serato software would be preferable.
