Electronic midi drum kit. anyone have experience?

I dont like using a trigger finger however i was in tomlee in richmond and used on of these drum kits.

anyone have any experience with them? would they work well in terms of use in a DAW within kontakt or battery? do they come with a VST?

they sure look like fun to jam on instead of using a keyboard for percussion.

thanks doods in advance

Roland V-Drums ftw.

If you know how to drum, these are awesome. If you don't - it's an expensive toy that will just take up space.

It's a straight-up midi controller that detects velocity - even adjusts the signal depending on where on the pad you hit. I know a guy in vic that does full sets with a set of v-drums and ableton building songs off of live loops and triggering various samples with the pads. It also comes with its own sound bank/sampler so you don't need to hook it up to a computer.

One of the practical upshots of this tech is you can practice drums in your home w/o disturbing neighbours as well.

Mat The Alien just got himself a kit like that - can't wait to see what he does with it...

i had some classical training in high school for percussion. its not natural to make off-beat percussion and all the likes with buttons or on a keyboard.

midi is good!
