it will still look like elton john's DJ setup. and what's the point of having a 4 ch mixer with 2 inputs being used? or the useless speaker set up? it's obviously and exercise in expensive useless crap. something that's all too pervasive among DJs. ("look at all this big expensive gear i never use!"). and companies understand this all too well and price their sub-par pro-sumer equip accordingly. srsly, almost nobody needs a 4 ch DJ mixer. i would venture to guess that 80% of the people out there with DJM 500/600/800 and A&H 42/62/92/464 etc. only ever use 2 ch even if they have 2 ttables and 2 CDjs.

this is a huge pet peeve of mine, if you couldn't tell.

Why is the speaker setup useless? Seems to be using the same amplification technique that a baby grand uses.

Most of the setups that I've seen on the DJM series puts the CDJs on separate channels from the turntables. Usually these days using the phono/line switch is reserved for Serato.

the speaker setup is usless because it would not cancel out the reverb in a hall/bigroom enviroment like monitors should. and its all lowend sounds. and large speakers are not efficient.

and its a stupid gimic.

i'm familiar with how people use their 4 ch mixers. i also understand why they're used in club installations (which i'm not really talking about). my point is it's usually superfluous. especially bedroom DJs. god, they're like crows: "shiny things!". fak. get the best that you need. it's just good design.

i think the modular DJ mixer has been tried before but i think rane should give it a go.

the QFO hs more torque than a 1200 but the pitch is wierdly place and would take me a while to get used to. biggest advantage is the crossfader is placed on the actuall TT in an ergonomic way.

QFO is designed for scratching. Period. You're not going to be rocking many parties or doing any mixing on it.
