Sh-dx1200

I'm selling my black, 2-channel, Technics mixer. Trim, high EQ (-24db, +12db), low EQ (-24db, +12db), no mid EQ. Excellent condition, the crossfader has hardly been touched due to my weak scratching skills. Now that I'm progressing and buying an effects module, etc. I'd like an upgrade to something with better handling for more devices.

It was purchased about three years ago and I have the original box, receipt, packaging, etc. It's been babied.

$300 obo

inside? As in there's a compartment inside the mixer where you can store extra faders?

I want to try the new SH-MZ1200

Yes, there is a compartment underneath that contains two spare faders. The reason I'm selling this one is because I just ordered the SH-MZ1200 :D

^ that's cool.

I never really liked the dx as i was always looking for a hybrid mixing/scratch mixer... the SH looks really cool and I hear it's built like a tank... New optical x-fader too which hopefully will last a hell of a lot longer than the dx fader...

I just spoke with technics in richmond and they said that they don't carry that new mixer yet. They could'nt even give me a price on it actually.

sucks because just by the looks I would order it.

I'm not sure if these crossfaders are optical or not. This is the SH-DX1200 not the SH-DJ1200. The DX faders are about 50% more than the DJ faders for some reason. I've been looking for some detailed production information on the DX, but since they don't make it anymore, it's hard to find whether these are optical or just VCA faders.

As a scratch mixer I'm sure this is perfect, but I use it mainly for mixing exclusively, so the faders are in perfect condition.

Yeah, it's a nice looking unit. I just ordered a silver one from NY :) If you want to get probably the best price around, I'd check out Vandersteen's across from Lougheed Mall in Burnaby. I bought all my equipment there at US prices but in Canadian dollars a few years ago.

From what understand, the faders on the DX are not optical and have a reputation for wearing out pretty quickly (for scratch DJs that is). For the MH, I'm pretty sure only the X-fader is optical. The levels are still analogue...

It's definitely a nice looking piece of equipment tho.
