Ha Haaaa! The Liberal party.
Well they pretty much just fucked themselves in the anus. I'm pretty confident Steven Harper will be victorious yet again (with a minority hold). On the account that the the newly elected leader of the Liberal party Stéphane Dion speaks about as much english as I speak mandarin. Quebec, and New Brunswick are the only french speaking provinces. So Liberal just about sealed not getting any votes outside the two.

I do and I don't. I did vote for Harper in the last election, I am conservative. But he has done a number of things I disagree with. Including his more recent recognition of Quebec as a "nation in Canada", which I have very mixed feelings about.
On top of Dion not being able to speak english. He's kinda lame... He's a dork, and has no charisma. I'm told (haven't read yet) that his ideas are not all that glorious either. |

wow, so because he has an accent that automatically makes him less of a leader? I don't think most Canadians think that way, and his votes won't just be coming from Quebec and NB. Some people value Canada's biligual status even if they speak English with more fluency.
Maybe you should look into some of Dion's ideas (regarding things like the environment...) before condemning him. His priorities are definitely different than Harper's. |

Hearing him speak, I've understood everything that he's saying. I don't know whether you've been around people who don't speak English as a first language, but it's really not hard to understand most.
I can't believe that in a country which was build on immigrants (many of whom were not native English-speakers) there are still people like you who make a big deal out of a French (The other official language!!!) accent. [and if there are a lot of people who think like you... yes, Dion has his work cut out for him] |

Because I can't find the article on his victory on being elected as the Liberal leader. As well, every article about him seems to be doubting him.

I agree that the Libs have shot themselves in the foot, but for a different reason.
Liberal leader Dion also French citizen I'm sorry, but IMHO, anyone that wants to be the leader of a country should have citizenship ONLY to that country, regardless of what their background is. |
