Anyone know how to repair Technics RPDJ 1200 headphones?

Hey, so my headphones are in mint shape aside from the wire connecting to the left earpiece (from a drunken tug-o-war with my record crate). I can see that there are screws and panels all over the place but I'm afraid that I'm going to end up breaking the plastic.
