Once again, I'll state, it's not even drinking and driving, it's a minor minor offence. Driving without a valid drivers licence. It was not suspended, it's expired, they treat you way differently.
I've actually been pulled over twice now, once I pretended I didn't know, they let me go with a vocal warning. Second time I pulled a U turn in a left turn signal. The cop pulled me over, I explained to him that I knew I shouldn't be driving but I didn't have the money to renew my license at the time. He said, that he wouldn't give me a ticket for the U turn as it was more expensive then the ticket to driving without a license. He called in to see why I hadn't renewed, found out it was clean, just expired. He let me go with only the small ticket. No points, small fine.
He said to me if I get caught again, I'll probably walk away with both tickets, one from the infraction i did (ie: the u turn) and also the ticket for driving without a license.
Regardless, I felt I wanted to tell the story, you're just gonna argue with me anyways.
