i honestly dont like it because all i'm seeing is people getting pulled over constantly

and im not liking this vibe because i get freaked out driving around and seeing cops following me. i appreciate the fact that its making the city safer, but having a nightlife with police sirens flashing every 5-6 blocks doesnt make me feel safe. it feels like theres more crime in vancouver than there is in washington dc

my brother in law got caught driving without a liscense while he was parking my sisters car and was thrown in jail for a night... he was fined a huge amount of money too

i've been caught before, $115 fine, your brother in law must have put up some sort of fight. cops love me, i'm so damn polite. =)

i've noticed there's been alot more around too (in surrey, on the roads.. everywhere)

but whatever, i don't care. let the people who get pulled over pulled over, their fault for doing stupid shit. ESPECIALLY SOME OF THEM. they'll do the stupidest stuff when there's a cop car RIGHT BESIDE THEM. really, some of them need to be pulled over.

i don't feel there's more crime though, i mean it's basically just alot more people getting pulled over for doing stupid things in there cars. i think it's good because it takes them off the road, and it makes it safer for the rest of us!

(last night i only saw a few cops, but that was for the car that caught fire in the middle of the port mann bridge...)

Maybe they're out in increased numbers to try to combat street racing or something.

I kind of think if we're going to have more cops, they should be fighing real crime (ie junkies in the downtown east side) instead of people who have one headlight burnt out.

Yep... cops are definitely out in full force now pretty much everywhere... well, except Richmond as I used to live there until recently!

But yeah, cops are really cracking down on the smallest things now. Be careful what you do and where you do it... it's not worth the long term effects that a criminal record will have on you.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with race dude. I bet your b-in-law gave some attitude, and or that certain cop was having a bad day and decided to be a prick. they don't throw you in jail for not having a licence, even if it was racist, the cop has to have justification.

Me too.......if I get caught then I gotta spend like a month in jail......also if I get caught with a cell phone then I could go to jail until my trial which could take a long ass time.

when i lived in asia i hated it when non asian people cried racism.
but now that i'm a foreigner i know why they cried racism.

other than that, fine it was stupid to bring up racism in the first place but you'd be surprised how much racism there is out there, even if its the mildest form, its still racism.

i'm not sure what happened when my brother got arrested but all i know is that he shouldnt of been driving because he had been banned for a good reason. and therfore he had to goto jail for the night.

I'm obviously not proud of it but I only drive when I really need to and theres no way I'll get caught with a cell........everytime theres an encounter with tha cops I just hand it over to a friend.
