It's not about the money. It's about the fact the she got hit by a car and could be injured and not know it right now. Without a claim she will get no compensation to pay for any treatment when then time comes that she needs it.

Of course she should be happy she is alive, she could just as easily been in a coma or dead. Since that didn't happen I suggest that she take control of the situation and make it work out in her favour.

This is life, if the tables were turned I bet that lawyer relative of the other party would be suing your ass off right now.
