ive only done about a week. Even when i was deep,REALLY deep in the amazon i still had my fucking ipod and video camera lol!

and when im traveling deep in a country that i dont know, the first thing i always look for is a interent cafe so i can reach *home*.....

dose anyone eles think about this?...and the profound effect technology has had on our lives?.

I'm really reliant on technology for almost everything.. When I lost my internet connection for a few months, there was a lot less time wasted on the computer, but I still used it a lot for projects. If I lost my phone and internet, feeling disconnected from everything, I'd probably fill it with another piece of technology... car. I've really been trying to simplify my life and get rid of distractions as of late.


It's a good question. I've often wondered how the world would react if there was a permanent blackout.

ummmm i don't mind taking a break from technology, maybe the longest was a couple of weeks, i was outdoors away form anything tech. As far as how long could i go - well my livelihood depends on it, so not very long.

I think I'd suffer serious withdrawls without my iPod and my cell.
Computer, internet and TV I can go without for several days- depending on where I am and what I'm doing. Camping makes it easy. lol

I could do it for as long as I'd need to and I love doing it from time to time. I don't mind being away from those things, especially being without a cellphone. I think that it's okay to do it because you know it's temporary, you know you couldn't live long without the comforts of technology...like who would want to live without their music for long? not me.

On the other hand, being one with nature isn't something I'm huge on, I hate camping because of the lack of a comfortable bed and good showers.

I do my best to stay away on weekends all possible. My phone especially, but it hardly ever works. Usually a Saturday or Sunday out for the afternoon without the phone, on my bike or just out walking is a nice step away.
