short story: I need to get a credit card to make online purchases and what not.

I'd like to not have to pay on a regular basis (unless of course I owe) but rather, only when I use it.

What is the best way to go if I'm only going to be making about a purchase every two weeks?

What about if I were to use it on a daily basis for random shit around town?

if you have a bill pay, if your balance is 0 don't pay : )

go to your bank to apply!

You get a credit card with a limit. You use it as much or as little as you want. You pay the balance or a payment every month.

Really that simple.

you can get visa or master card gift card


if this is for one time purchase that's the way to go! Don't get yourself sucked in the credit.. my advise ;)

just buy things when you have the money for it.

grocery shopping, clothes, if you were going to be spending cash at the bar take the card and use it.

never spend more than you have.

for some reason I had thought there were regular (monthly) fees involved just for having it.

for some there are, u have to go to your bank and ask... and you can set it up so you can pay it off online too if you want

but I agree and follow the advice, that only spend the money if you have it, dont wanna go down the road of owing money you dont have to a credit company :S

you can get no annual fees credit cards... just got to shop around for the one suits u best

get yourself a prepaid credit card, usually they have a minimum limit for 500, but its the best way to get the understanding of how credit works.

you treat it like a regular credit card.... just you cant get yourself in shit with it really.
