I changed both my first and last names for the same reason, because I wanted to, and I didn't like my old names. If you have the money then do it, it's a positive experience. I think it's underrated how a name/title can affect the people you meet. So don't pick a stupid replacement that you'll regret in 5 years.

Most close friends/family don't use your name when addressing you directly, but it can get confusing when people try to reference you.
