My roommate and I were at the yaletown brewery last night, eating burgers and drinking beers.
The table beside us, the two people were deffinitely on a date. Janna (my roomie) and I were observing them. The conversation, isnt going anywhere between the two and we started to chuckle a bit.
Then the chick pulls out her cellphone and starts yapping, yapping, yapping.
Eating her dinner.. yapping yapping like a little yaletown skank.
The guy is just sitting there doing nothing. I felt really bad for him.

What I would do.. I wouldnt even tell her where im going, just hop the fence.. flip her the bird and leave the restaurant and the bill with her. She's obviously rich enough to yapp on her cellphone for hours.
I reallllllllllllllly hate when girls pull out their cellphones in the middle of a date. It's super rude.

I turn off my phone the second I start a date, and I make sure I do it in front of them. This way hopefully they get the idea. If that had happend to me though, that would be the end of that...

Interesting side not to burgers in yaltetown. Last time I was down there, the guy at the table next to me did the weirdest thing.

He openned up the burger, pushed off all the vegtables, ate the top bun, then ate the open faced burger with a knife and fork.

Then to make it weird he mixed ketchup with the lettice and tomatoes together and ate it like a salad.

yes, talking on a cellphone during a date can be rude as hell... but it doesn't have to be.

I usually would have my phone on silent, and only pickup if they had already done it first. I personally dont mind that much as long as my date is considerate about it (''this is important please excuse me a second'' and makes it quick) then I would take the space to do the same. But if I were to see or be aware that my date turned off their phone entirely, then I would do the same.
