Going rate for MC?

So I've started gettin gigs for MC/Host, etc..

and I was curious what you guys thought was an average rate for an MC ?

Like I did a halloween pub party last night, owner paid for my trip and like tonsssss of drinks so I didn't ask for anyting.

but lets say a full night of hosting, or a rave, with some freestyles thrown in whatever.. just need some input thanks!

I think it really depends...

If your just starting out and getting gigs with small companies than I wouldn't expect much.

You also have to think of how many ppl your entertaining?
(The more ppl, the more the promoter is making)

A special night like Halloween/New Years/ Weekend etc?
(This brings more ppl, high priced tickets, and more drink sales)

Also put your pay into perspective like any job, how many hours are you working and what are you getting paid per hour?

Than add how much preparation you need prior to the event.

And on top of all this, your experince and talent.

i may not have any singing talent, but i damn well know how to yell at people and get crowds going haha

ive done a couple now, i thought id get a bit of stage fright, but i find the more people there.. the more I wanna get up and start MC'ing

im gunna do that nov 23rd rave @ croation cultural centre, just hosting.. dont really dig the music too much but you gotta do wutcha gotta do right.

It's sad to say, but there are more then enough people willing to yell shit into a mic.

If you have experience, and actually add to the party and don't fall under the MC Groove, MC dice catagorey, then you'll get paid.

ive battled lots of kids at house parties n' stuff on mics, and well.. they don't feel so great afterwords.

if you can freestyle off the top of ur head for like a minute or 2 with me or my crew, then ill be impressed.

and yes i did get paid for the gigs i did. yes i do add to the party, i don't just yell a bunch of shit out. I had to judge a costume contest etc, so i did so in a creative way.

anyway ..... why do I even need to argue to a bunch of clowns on the internet? I really don't know. Come out to tree rock pub in surrey on sundays I'm resident MC.
