there's that big dog park behind playland on the other side of the tracks. huge open fields by 'the water'. i did a little habachi bbq last year with a bunch of friends and their dogs and it was nice because it wasn't over run with people.

lighthouse park is amazing but its not exactly in vancouver. theres also some nice little spots out at ubc, near spanish banks sorta but not on the actual beach.. are you thnking sunset and blanket with one or bbq and park with more?

cates park in north vancouver right by deep cove(on dollarton highway) right on the ocean and absolutely beautiful. there is a TON of little coves and beach spots that are seriously secluded. my fav place to picnic ever!

Also maybe check out Lynn Canyon in north van for a bit of a hike/picnic -- plus the bonus of a scary suspension bridge!

wytecliff park is pretty good, although it can get quite busy during nice weather, but there are little spots to grab if you get there early

My favourite picnic/beach spot is Virginia Key in Miami, though! One of Tim's friends gave us the tip about this place, this pic is on a Saturday at around 2pm, no one around!!
