I wouldn't say it's stupid because at that age minds are generally malleable - very easy to convince.

If they truly love each other they can wait. But frankly I would argue that someone so young is too young to understand what true love is.

The reason polygamy isn't a standard is because we live in a patriarchal dominant standard. This is the patriarchal version of polygamy that all the cults are about...mainly some weird Christian offshoot for an extra flavor of forced sex and fear of an invisible man.

Polygamy in a matriarchy would be far different...it could truly save the world.

So far in this day and age women aren't allowed to really enjoy their sexlife with multiple partners without the taboo of being called a slut, a wench, or some other slut/wench derivative.

When women are truly liberated sexually, the world will know peace....but that would mean no more trophy wives and enough cunts out there like that role so we'll prolly just blow ourselves up instead.

I'll go so far as to say the only women who really are oppressed because of their gender are the ones who believe they are, kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. They automatically put themselves in an us vs. them mentality, and the only way to get people on your side is if you're losing.

Equality is determined by the individual...so mithridate you are right...as you may be a living example.

However environmental constraints can reek havok on such self determination...especially if your religion/work makes you a second class citizen.

remember when you leaped to the internet during HRC's cry gate, but were totally unaware that mittens had done the same thing twice? people are still being held to different standards based on their gender and they have every right to be frustrated by it.

Oppressed, no

There's a difference between being frustrated by it and being downtrodden by it. Being frustrated means you can work past it. But occasionally I see women who complain about being discriminated by gender but in reality it's because they really just aren't that good at what they do.

Not saying it's the common case, just saying it happens.
