where abouts are you located? My boyfriend goes to this place on Cambie and 18th called Jack in Vancouver. Its only for guys and they do really good work. They also include a scalp massage which is relaxing. If you want to pay like $60 this is a really good place and they have amazing styling prodcuts as well :)

I've always wanted to go into a barber and have my face shaved with a straight razor but always forget... is it different then just shaving your face yourself? is it actually better?

The old guys on Burrard and Davie area, just a few doors down from the TD do a straight razor shave pretty nice. Even with your haircuts they'll straight razor the back for a trim, nice touch.
