awh yeah my 2 most favorite places in the world EVER!! lol my bestest lives in Scotland and I haven't seen him in 2 years. And Hornby is my dream place :) Been going there for the past 8 years each summer but didn't get to go this year :(

That's what I read in my guide. I'll be there for a month (unless I split my time off between Bali and Thailand), so i'm sure i'll find better beaches to spend time on.

Any recommendations?

Kuta is filthy, and a crap representation of Bali in my opinion.

Check out the Gili Islands, about a 2 hour ferry away. The beaches were gorgeous in 2005, who knows what has changed since then though.

If you are adventurous, and after a bit of a cultural experience, get off Bali. If you want sand and cocktails and ozzie's, the south of the island is ideal.

Hmm for me the answer always will be somewhere i can feel less connected to technology and the hustle/bustle/drama of city life and more in tune with nature. That would be anywhere I suppose!

though on a day like today, i would answer 'still in bed' heh!
