Trouble connecting to internet browser.

I have a computer that all of a sudden stopped connecting to internet explorer. It has a connection however I can't run any programs that involve connecting to the internet.

When I need to use this computer I usually have to restore to an earlier date. Actually it seems Sept 1/08 is about the latest I can restore the machine to and actually have explorer(or firefox) work.

Is there a way to figure out what changes were made to the system that are causing the browser not to work? I have searched around on microsoft forums a bit but have had no luck. Thanks in advance.

are there certain pages that do load? are there certain pages that dont load? there was a worm going around before that disabled any connections to yahoo,google, hotmail

go to start > control panel > system and maintenance > device manager

look for any yellow caution triangles in your network folder (or anywhere else for that matter). update your drivers as necessary.

I had a similar problem where my network drivers would uninstall themselves out of the blue. Nvidea and realtech drivers are a whore with a vista

also screw internet explorer.

chances are it's not your system but something software related.
