Going Camping

okay...
so me and my girl friend are planning to go camping at the end of this month
and the only two places that are available are...
Maple bay and Entrance bay by Cultus lake.

Just wondering...has anybody been to any of these two camp sites before??
We're probably just going to say 2 or 3 days.
Which one would you guys recommend??

you're telling me in all of BC those are the only two places available?

methinks you are either lazy or not looking hard enough as I can think of a few places around here that are available.

I should change that eh?.. there are more available, but we didn't want to go TOOO far.. and nothing too close like Rolley lake and Golden ear in maple ridge
So we narrowed it down to those two, Maple Bay and Entrance bay.. and... its near Cultus lake water park too the last time i was there was 5 years ago with my little cousin

yo man, if you go up the logging road just past the sasquacht inn for about 40 klicks you'll find a dope camping spot with incredible moutain views and a beautiful crystal clear lake.

look for a shot up white 92 chevy cavalier, it marks the camping spot, its my fool buddy craig's.

Just buy a BC Forest Service Map for an area and go make your own Camping spot.

They're like $5 and then you camp for free!

Ok, Big BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP, HERE!!!

Help me out, kids!

I've just spent almost 2 h searching, and I've only been able to scrape together a couple of hits.

Taking the sis and her kids camping.

GOAL!:

Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo

Travel half way-ish to Victoria, and camp on the eastern shore.

So, who knows of any water-front/in the forest campsites about half-way between Nanaimo and Vic?

Any info, greatly appreciated!

^Forget between Nan and Vic, hit Hornby Island. I promise you won't regret it! It's the ONLY place in BC where I've actually swam in the ocean. Galiano is another little gem.

Bamberton's between Vic and Nan, but I think you're really limiting yourself there. There are tons of beautiful places to camp about an hour or so north of Nanaimo. Rathtrevor, Englishman River Falls, Little Qualicum Falls, Sproat Lake (okay that's a bit further, but it's an AMAZING lake). Also, stop in Coombs, kids go ape shit for the goats on the roof.

<3 camping on the island(s)

True dat!!!!

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think I should take them over to Long Beach. Camp there, then head back down to Vic.

Goats, mountains, woods, beach...

Yeah. I'll start looking around for that.

Cheers for the inspiration!

Sombrio Beach, on the West Coast Trail, just north of Victoria... not so far up that it's really that difficult to get to, I think like a 10min walk from a parking lot.

Check it

A good alternate to Long Beach is Quatsino... but you have to go to Coal Harbour to get there. Absolutely beautiful up there though.

I'm pretty damn sure you're NOT referring to Denman and Georgia...

(Good pubs, a couple of marinas, NO camping...)

Cheers, Ebo! You might have won a prize!!!
