It's not that I necessarily need it, but I would like to have the right to get it if I wanted it.

It just seems like another political move that will do nothing to those it supposedly targets, and just take away some more freedom from the rest of us while drowning others in red tape.

Besides, what about stab proof vests? Does the guy at the local quickie-mart need to apply to some bureaucrat for the privilege of living puncture free.

You live in Canada, you've never had a "right" to body armor. Canada has strict limitations on guns. IE - You can't have a gun that with a clip larger then ten rounds,

The law has nothing really to do with its stated purpose, but instead is intended to uplift the political fortunes of a political party in the eyes of the public.

History of this bill:
- Ndp suggest it during gang war.
-Liberals mock them calling it "political grandstanding"
-short time passes
-Liberals repackage NDP idea as there own and output it as their
"get tough on crime" package.

Wow, thank you for describing every law that has pretty much passed. You mean parliament won't put through laws unless they think it's popular with the public? Shocking! This hardly makes it a political law, this just makes it like every other law passed in parliament.

Why are you up in arms about this? Who needs body armor? Name me one time in your life where your life where body armor would have came in handy.
