I used to have a schipperke!! And she was also a runt :) Her name was Jet and she was my childhood pet from when I was 7 - 17, she passed away from an epilepse seizure :( I miss her, she was such a cute little doggie. Aren't they so funny???

You used to have one? Coolbeans. That's just weird.. hah I got Niki (mine) when I was 7 too.. she's 10 now, and getting old, i hope she's got more life in her. She's epileptic as well (it sucks), but we've got her on meds to help control it so they should help.

^^^ I love them too :) Sooo naughty and sneaky but that's what makes them so funny!! And yes, my little Jet was a chub chub too, wadling around lol Jet lived till she was 13, we got her when she was a few years old, from a lady by the name of Marge Kite who never informed us that her dogs were epileptic . . . so Jet didn't start taking her medication till she was about 3-4 when we figured out what would help her. With the medication she went from have a seizure ever week to one every 6 months or so ~ it's so hard to deal with :( Did you happen to get your Niki from Marge Kite??

Actually yes we did. She didn't mention the epilepsy dealio to us either! We didn't find out until one day she had one, we took her to the vet, and my mom did more research on the epilepsy. Turns out most breeders are trying to breed the epilepsy out of their line, but she never really bothered, just wanted show dogs!
We got Niki onto her medication when she was.. 8 i think? we held off until they got really bad and violent, since the medication isn't good for her.
The vet makes fun of Niki when he's trying to find her ribs, lol. It's not easy.. hehe so chubby, it's cute.

That's interesting that you got her from Marge as well, I think she's an evil woman!! She knew Jet had epilepse because she had her until she was a couple years old. We also tried to hold off on the medication as well but she was having seizures so often that my uncle who is a vet reccommended she start the medication. Maybe that's what weekened her system :( I'll find a picture to post up!!
