Are your parents for or against peircings?

Whut do your parents think of them?

My moms thinks people who get them are crazy cuz apparently it hurts so much.. and why would you wanna do soething like that to yourself?! And my dad doesn't really care.. kinda wonders why I'd do it.. but after awhile.. kinda caves.. and is like "thats pretty cool!"

They I guess.. dont understand that some people use it as a way to express thier self! hrmmm....

but I dont live with them anymore.. so they don't really have a say.. let alone it is MY body!

My parents think that piercings are ugly.
But they don't care what I have hanging off my body, since I am almost 22. And unless they are going to feed and support me, they can shove their oppinion up their arse.
I don't have any facial piercings left, since they are not acceptable in the professional world.

My mom always says that only sailors, prostitutes, prisoners and bikers have tattoos and piercings in Iran.
It's really funny, when I had my 3rd hole done on my ears she told me I looked like a dyke and she was really bitter about it.
But, she's gotten a lot better now, i'm trying to get her to be more open minded and I think it's slowly working.

My mom said that ink and rings is a form of worshipping satan :hehe: my mom was going to pay me 200 dollas to take out my tongue ring :hehe: i said HAIL SATAN :hehe: i want to get my whole back inked and my brother is half way done getting his sleeves done :D

omg I laughed so hard when I read that, my dad paid me 50 dollars to take out my cartilidge peircing, I had only paid 5 dollars to get it done and I didn't really like it because it kept getting infected so I took it out.

My parents are really strange.

I've had lots of different piercings (nose, tongue, lip, tons of earrings, nipple, navel) but the only one they like are my ears.

At first they didn't even notice that I could fit a pencil right through them (they're stretched to a 00 gauge).

When people make negative comments on them, my dad is the first to stand up for me. He tells me he thinks they're beautiful. I've always been a bit of a daddy's girl tho

my parents both have tattoos, and my mother is so hardcore that she got her ears pierced multiple times to get over her fear of it. my dad... he just laughs at things.

i've never had to take my piercings out for a job... the professional world can kiss my sparkling white ass.

My parents never really seemed to care when I started getting piercings at 15..
when I was 16 I got a job at a piercing shop, and I think more than anything my parents were happy that I took the inatiative at that young of an age and got myself a job.

My parents didn't really approve or disapprove, because I think at that young psuedo-rebellious stage in my life I'd have done anything wether they approved or not. It's something you do when you're young I think..since then, I've taken out most of my piercings, and you can only see one of them now.


For parents, I think it's really silly if they disapprove of piercings...I mean if the WORST thing your kid is doing is getting a piercing, they should consider themselves lucky.

my parents baught me my first tattoo for my sweet 16, then i got my second one when my mom went to get hers toched up last year.
my brother and i are both tattooed, the only thing my parents are upset about is that my brother peirced his nipple. and they got over that in about 5 minutes - literally - and my mom gets him to show all of our older relatives to shock them.
i think some peircings can be indecent just like some tattoos can be indecent but its up to the person its their body, and in the most part my parents agree.
i wanna get a mauri (i'm not sure how to spell it but its the natives in new zealand) tattoo next. it'll be tight.

i've never had to take out my peircings for a job either.

a few years ago i used to have my eyebrow peirced and my parents hated it. and then i got my labret peirced and my mom was like "that looks really good" and my dad didn't even notice. but then i took my eyebrow ring out cuz i realized i hate eyebrow rings. and my mom still loves my labret but she just says i should get a smaller stud.

and they don't really care about my ears. my mom wants me to get smaller rings though but whatever.

my mom took me to get my ears pierced in gr.2...i got a few more done on my ears and she started getting worried...i'm not sure wut she was worried about though...she says the next piercing i get..she's gonna be the one to pierce me..:(

and for tattoos..she said she would pay for me to get my eyeliner tattooed to my eyelids..(i'm not sure if i want that)..and if i wanted a tattoo anywhere else..she'd be ok with it as long as she liked the design..

My parents always said nothing illegal! (i'm still 17) but i know they dont like piercings/tattoos.

they just found out about my sisters piercings/tattoos (she's been travelling since april). the tattoo's they were a bit okay with (wrist, back of neck and by the hip) since they aren't huge, or hugely visible.
and the piercings my dad was like "why?! it looks so ugly!" cause she's got her labret done. lol but she's 21 so they can't do anything.

it'll be the same whenever i get something done, but like they always said.. nothing illegal. and i'll go by that :P

My parents always told me *not until after highschool*. I shouldn't have listened to them, but I did. When I did get my first piercing (my tongue) my dad wouldn't speak to me for a week. My mom didn't like it, but she got used to it. My second piercing was a bit easier on them. But they still didn't like it. Now I have 12 piercings (though they only know about 11) and soon it will be 13(though they still will only know about 11), and they're fine with them. It's my body, and I've taught them that they can always be taken out if I need to take them out, and they'll heal over. They're not something permanent. I should have gotten my first piercing in highschool even though they told me I couldn't. My little sister hid her navel ring (got it in grade 10) for 5 months before they found out, and they didn't even care anymore because I had desensitized them from piercings already.

so yeah. My parents are fine with it now. *Just no more facial piercings* my mom says. heh. I'm 22. It's my body. I'll do what I want with it. I'm not scared of my parents anymore.
