if you have a mini system with an audio input(which most have nowadays), you can plug it right into that and that should suffice for anything you'll need to do in your house.

Well speakers can sure put a dent in your pocket depending on what u want them to sound like... plus u need to think about amp or receiver... My friend uses his CD stereo to play, by inputting like someone else said... But for me i picked up a pair of JBL towers with 8" drivers,,,northridge series i think... i got them just as the new series was coming in so i payed like 500 for the pair i think.. maybe less.. there normally like 600-700 for a pair i think, this was a long time ago so i can't remember... but the good thing about the towers is i can use them to play my dvd sound on, tv, radio etc... multipurpose.. the bass is nice and i dont even have a sub hooked up yet... but the mids and highs are EXCELLANT and very crisp and distinguishable
