oct.27th 2001 There were over 10 cops present with probably over 30 security guards at all ends of the venue.The police were using their new infrared camera to spot who was carying illegal substances.Ever seen one before yet?It didn't really stop people from doing their business(party favours) if you can imagine i smoked around 5 j's while i was being ultra ninja stealthy i get mad props for that none of the calgarians had the guts to do it except for a good old bc boy..IT was jungle in one room featuring dj phantasy ,SHy FX,mc skibadee in the other room acid techno and funky house with tryptomene,cary chang,domenic g. beats were ok ,no vibe that's my review. here check this out and beware and hope it doesn't enter your scene. thats intense...id be fucked!!! ...seriously... thats so bunk....especially since theyre cops and they can arrest u on the spot....but that kind of seems like an illegal search and seizure to me....i don't think thats something that can be ok...seems excessive to me...i think it also says somewhere in the rights act that we have the right to personal or reasonable privacy or some shit...am i wrong here thinkin that this is kind of ILLEGAL... corrie

if it is presented to you on the flyer/at the door that the cops will be doing this sort of thing, and you continue into the party, you basicly give your consent.
in a private setting, if you are informed of the searches, then your rights are not in violation because you have the choice not to go to the party. just turn around and ask for a refund. r.

What you are referring to is the Freedom of Information Act (BC).
In this province, under our laws, the police have to clearly notify you if you are being searched or under survallience. Those laws may not apply in Alberta, or apply in a different fashion.
