My sister is 13 but seems to think shes 20 along with all the rest of her friends! I hate when they all come over to my house and wear practically nothing, its absolutly disgusting!! Right now they are in a stage where they roll up their shirts as high as they will go, and roll down their shorts and prance around in front of our neighbors! How can i make my sister stop doing this and realize she looks like an idiot! Grrrrrrrrr makes me so mad!

I've noticed this too. I have a younger cousin that is 12 years old and she dresses in clothes that she just should be wearing at such an age. She tells me that her friends all drink and smoke pot n so on...this scares me cuz i never started that kinda stuff when i was her age. my first kiss wasnt even until halfway thru grade 10...guess that was only 3 and a half years ago lol. Kids are trying to grow up too fast *sigh* :(

i really think that this is something that happens in every generation, and it differs each generation because of the times\the state the world is in.
hippies were seen as sluts and drug addicts and no good bums with hair that was too long, now they dont seem that bad.
i do agree that its disgusting what young ladies wear these days. i went shoppin with my little cousin and her friends the other day - two of them were sensable and were makin fun of the other girls "style", which was the least amount of clothing that was leagally possible.
i could rant on... but i wont.
but i remember gettin discriminated against at 13... and even still now. maybe its about the sexual revolution of women? each year we learn more and more that are bodies are sexy\amazing no matter what shape or form. too much self confidence? but to contradict myself, usually the girls that show the most skin, have the lowest self esteem, and wont notice until a later age.

This september I was picking up my daycare kids and couldnt help but notice the grade 7 girls wearing 555 short shorts and tight ass lulu lemon pants... and I dont know why even elementry girls need to be carrying those silly little purses I only take out on a nice evning??? LWTF?

I dont know how much we can blame the media? I mean we listened to songs in elementry that had the word "sex" in it... well at least they were tryign to send us the messege about being carful about it.

By my time in grade 12 (2001) I remember the grade 8's I helped in PE talking about doign E at the next dance and selling it... Werid how drinking at a dance was a big deal in grade 10/11...

Also to mention how what a big deal sex was in my generation... I was told 50% of us girls usualy lose it by grade 12... However I here the latest study in the north vancouver district is that 30% of grade 8's and 9's have oral std's !?!
