Interview Tips please?
Ok im sure we ahve all ben to job interviews and alot of times they ask you the same gay questions like
So tell me about yourself? What do you think you can bring to our company or in other words why should we hire you? For the first question i have had numerous teachers telling me that when they say that they dont mean tell me abou yourself like i like sports etc... they want to know what ur experiances are relating to the job ur applying for. But the teacher i have in my class now is sayihg the exact opposite. She says they ant you to actually tell them about urself. wtf is it? Some great help would be much appreciated. or any other tips. thank you all

Well since I interview people for a living, here are some suggestions:
1.) Understand your audience... IE: who are you speaking to. 2.) Ask them a question like, "I can tell you lots about myself, are you wanting to understand things about my professional self or from my personal life?" The point is to be prepared for both... Don't forget that companies/hiring managers hire PEOPLE and therefore not only your professional experience but also everything else about you makes that up and that's ultimately who they hire. honesty will take you a long way. Dont bullshit.. These guys will get you on the smallest thing. Do not mention anything about pirating.. One guy did last year. Dont think you know more about the person interviewing you because you probably dont. Ask them a lot of questions about their role in EA.. people love to talk about themselves. and finally.. if you're losing them.. kiss serious ass.

yea i sort of got the info from the interview cause i know Edwin (interface designer) i had a buddy who just had an interview and of course with great appretiation help from you through out this whole time. If i happen to get his job *crossing fingers* we'll go out for a bite or a nice session or whatevers. i know clearly what to expect im just stuck on that 1st question i was asking being "why should we hire you? what do u offer better thne others?" any suggestions martin?

uhhh do what i did.. only my reason was 100% true. "i've wanted to work here since i was 12, I've been a fan of EA since mutant league football, the first NFS and road rash series. I think i would make a great employee because I'd be testing the games I love, I'd also be working really hard because its kind of been my dream for the past 6 years and I will not let you down" blah blah blah.

Ppcok nailed that... he displayed passion which is always a good thing.
Before you can answer for them, "Why should we hire you" you have to answer for yourself, why do you want to work there! -- Think about that and from that answer will come your other answer.

make sure u trim your finger nails, no kidding this guy walked into my restaurant with the intention of being hired as a cook. his finger nails made me want to puke, he didnt ge the position.
