Advice where to travel?
Thailand for the month of July looks less and less promising :(
However im still in dire need to backpack it somewhere! Im giving myself 1-2 weeks and the most of $2000 to spend in total. I plan to go either early july or late Augest... looking for culture and prefebly nice tropic beaches :D Any advise? Festables to check out? Or knowlege of any deals that come around this time? cheers |

Southeast Asia, I'd totally reccomend going to Laos and Cambodia, it's really easy to avoid the whole tourist hubub in either country, it's cheap, and it can just be breathtaking. I'd take extra caution if you are going to Cambodia, there are a lot of really nice khmers, but their government/police force are reaaallly corrupt, they prey on white tourists! haha
As for Europe, do Norway! It's got white sandy beaches in the summer and amazing mountains to snowboard on in the winter, it's a beaaautiful country. |

have you considered south/central america? flights tend to be expensive, but if you find a cheap one then living costs are super low. i've always been interested in doing a guatemala-belize-yucatan trip. looks like i'll be staying "continental" (heh) this summer though, hopefully making a few trips around BC and maybe a couple out east to toronto and new york. i'm getting the backpacking urge too. *twitches*
