So I go to hand in an application form and the guys like "ya maybe you should apply another time because the manager bases most of his opinions on first impressions,maybe you should wear something dressy like as if you were going for an interview" Ok what the fuck why should I do that? Am I at an interview? NO. Am I wearing ugly clothes?? NO. Ok so maybe its like a plain top and pants but that doesn't mean I look like a bum or anything..

slightly off-topic:

i was in Blenz once and accidentally ordered a 'grande' coffee and the woman behind the counter started going off at me and saying that this isn't starbucks and they don't have grande coffee and if i wanted a grande i should walk my ass over to the starbucks across the street.

i almost cried.

but i did go to the starbucks...she probably would have spit in my coffee!

Ya, with restraunt chains you gotta use their termonology or they get pissy. Personaly when I was working cash at McDicks way back when... I didn't care if people calles it a "large fry"... cause it IS.

When you drop of your resume your making a first impression for yourself. If someone gives me a resume and they are dressed just as they would be hanging out at the mall, or are with they're friends, (worst was some chick talking on her cell phone) I just throw it in the garbage.

ya... Usually when I drop off resumes, I'm waring dress pants and a dress shirt. It's not till the interview that I ware a full suit though.
