Is Van more or Less Sketchy than it was in 2000
Everyone i talk to says Van has seriously gone downhill in the last while...
Is this true? I was there 99-00 and it was somewhat sketchy but not that bad.. Now i hear the crackers and junkys are pretty much eveywhere....

I don't necessarily think their crackers, and junkies but ya I think its gone downhill for sure.
Their will always be druggies, but I find that since its alot easier in my mind to get certain drugs, and the cheapness of the drugs, more kids seem to be doing them. Its my opinion though

I got jacked by 8 guys once @ the skytrain station when i lived in Burnaby, more of that kinda crap goin on? Is the skytrian still full of fucked shit? I hear Gastown is harsh now too...

As any city becomes more populated, the line between the rich and the poor becomes greater. There becomes more access to drugs. Vancouver goes through phases, and right now it's in the middle of a crystal meth epidemic which hopefully will pass soon.
However most of vancouver ( east side excluded ) is still safe to walk around. Compared to any US city of the same population, we have a third the crimerate. We also have very incompetent police however. The Vancouver Police Force solved currently 1/5 crimes, and still has over 60 missing women in the east side to deal with.
