"I want to be a moderator"
Many of you have been asking me if you can moderate a section. I appreciate the interest levels but unfortunately It's not that easy. Recently a new member named andrea came out of the woodwork and asked if she could be a moderator. With 1 post on this board your chances are super thin. Over the last year we have carefully chosen several mods, which I feel, are doing and excellent job. Some of these moderators were asked to fill the position and others made inquiries to a certain section. Some of the qualifications are listed below:
If we need anymore mods in the future I will seek out certain people to fill the position. If you feel you are capable of moderating a section that you like don't hesitate to PM me or email me. Thanks. |

Form...
I like the way you have standards for your mods, very good idea.. But they shouldn't really have to have a certain amount of post though.. Becasue, I and I'm sure others do too.. always come and check out this place though they don't post.. You may not notice it but they do.. But thats just my opinion if, it counts. :) Good luck with it though!!! |

Yes, the post do clarify that the member is here.. But I'm sure there can be other ways of knowing they are here.. isn't there?? Like karma, and what not?! Plus at the bottom of one of the pages, it says wether the member in on the baord or not.. and whenever a member decides to come back and 'visit' it tells them when they were last on the board, I'm pretty sure you can check that out for your self.. considering.. Myles goes into peoples accounts(knows from experience) and so on, can't you do that.. Yes it may be a hassel.. but it comes with the job, doesn't it? :)

True again...but
It's one thing to visit a lot and it's another thing to post intelligently and become involved. Take for instance the canucks: If i go to every game and watch the team, not neccessarily cheer, does that make me more a part of the team than someone, who on occasion, actively helps the team out with fundraisers? It's hard to say. The person who helps the team out directly would be considered more of an asset to the team because they show face. The person who goes to every single game would lose out on some of the credit they deserve for being a silent supporter. I think if a person is "actively involved" they have a better chance at being a mod then one who silently supports the site.
:) Just my opinion |

i'd just like to say that i originally defied the 500 post qualification :) ... then again, i'm responsible for the heart2heart & 1/2 credit to creating the life section... hehe...
but !!! i think the 500+ post qualification is reasonable. it says a lot more than how much of a posting whore you are. by posting so many times, the admins around here have probably gathered enough infoto make a good judgement about you... obviously there's a few more things that need to be taken into account, like how long u've been on the site. for instance, andrea (is she the same andrea that posted that crap on lx that started a big fight?) wants to be a mod after being here for like 10 minutes? i think this is how the can'tbe-l33t-h4x0r starts off... trying to get some power so they can do some damage... hmmm... the american way? ahaha.. anyways... i donno if the 500+ posts thing is totally concrete seeing as i got thru it (then again i'm crazy, so there's no telling what i'll jump thru...), but it's just like applying for a job or a loan, background checks are necessary to insure that something good can become of this..... yass yass... it's good to have a figure like 500 posts. it gives some order to our little system here. i mean come on, you don't go to some fancy shmancy golf place in phat pants with a croquet set and expect them to let u in, do u? (well in bob's case... that's another story...) |

form :)
I hear what your saying hun.. But are we really supose to judge a person by the way they are online.. But it's totaly understandable where your coming from, being that you basically run this(or atleast I wish ya did[I'm not kidding either])
But if you were to take the the way people post seriously, you maybe missing something,.. you never know.. :) |

hmmm ... i agree with jovi on this one. i have all the qualifications as listed above quite nicely except for the five hundred postz [i had to create a new account because my old one is not on file?] therefore i don't see the logic behind that =0) but hey, i'll grow up to be a fantastic mod someday!
