That's funny. I always wanted a "normal" name too as a kid. My sisters are named Michelle and Melissa...When they were born a lot of girls were being called those names. I hated my name until probably grade 6 I think. They I realized that my name was more unique. I've only ever met a few Desiree's in my life -- all of them have come through Aldergrove and I haven't heard of anyone named Desiree in the past few years or so.

And typing my name out/hearing it still sounds wierd to me for some reason.

Yes! When I was younger, no one had a name like mine. I think maybe a girl named Dakota went to our school for like one year, but she was way older. When I was 9 I went to the Doctor and there was a fill-in for my reg. doctor and he'd just delivered a baby girl named Nevada earlier that day. I went to the hospital all made up to look older (u needed to be 14+ to visit n the later visiting hours) and we went to see this baby girl. A couple months later we were invited over for tea. I think it was really important to know that there were other people with my name, and I'm glad my Mum went thru all that trouble. The other meeting Nevada stories I have are funny too, but I don't need to fill up this entire thread and section with them. Hehe.

i am called tyler nothing special that i know of, i've wanted to be called Cole but i've learned being a tyler isn't so bad, you get some pretty good looking women and the times with tyler's are just the best. i've almost considered staring a "Tyler Only Club" way back in grade ????????? 5 i think, i dunno somewhere around the time when i was still playing Transformers in the little woods at my school during recess, gotta love that big mud puddle called the Tar Pit. if there are any other tyler-s out there let me know, we could just maybe start a club for tylers' and anyone else that wants to join in, you all are welcome!

When my mom had me.. she didn't know what to name me.. so I was nameless for like the first week of my life.. I was just called "baby Barnes"... My mom couldn't think of a name so my Godmother decided to start calling me "Jenny".. it stuck for awhile... but my mom didn't like the name... It got shortened to "Jen" still didn't like it.. this went one for like 6 months.. just random names. My dad wanted to name me "Desiree", but my uncle[he was 13 then] made fun of that name calling me "Dizzy Desi" or something... Then I just went by my middle name "Cristina".. So I ended up with no middle name.
Then one night my mom was watching TV.. just flippin through the channels... come across Channel 7... See's the name "Jeanette". Wasn't to sure of the name, and didn't like the spelling. I guess you could say my mom was REALLY picky. So she worked witht he name... dropped the 'ea' and subtituted it for an Apostrophe. Leaving me with a shorter looking Name. J'nette.
It took my mom forever to get my name printed correctly on my birthcertificate. They kept on putting and 'I' for the Apsotrohpe. and still to this fucking day people but and 'I' instead of one. Drives me insane.

I got my name when i was born cuz i was wrapped in a pink blanket I looked like a rosebud O.o my dad was gonna call me Rosebud as my real name but my mom freaked and just named me rose

my parants had a choice of two names for me, if i was born with dark hair they were gonna call me natalie, light hair i woulda been jillian. i was born with almost black hair so natalie it was. then a few months later my hair channged from dark to light blond. my mom thought she made a mistake(i had blond hair till about grd 1) then it started going dark again..now i have dark brown....again
