All you Geeks! How organized do you keep your computer?

i would say messy (like my room), but the files are usually named with key words so i can use search to find what i need just in case

im somewhere in the middle. it's fairly organized, but i havent sorted any of my downloaded files in a couple months; they're a mess.

i'm hella organized, way too much stuff to let it get messy, the only mess i have in an "unsorted folder" which i hit every couple of days, and organize stuff out if it into the rest of my folders.

Normally Doom keeps his computer fairly well organized.. but a lack of a dvd burner has caused his drives to fill up with a morass of files.

My Computer is quite organized, there may be a lapse of a day or so of unsorted stuff in my Download Directory but that's it. My Room however... lol quite the contrast.

man my shit is mad organized.
i use a little program called "list maker" so i have a huge .doc file of everything i've archived so i can search a key-word and find out what damn CD i burned it on.
i also have a temp drive where i keep all the crap that i don't know what to do with before i decided to archive it or not.
besides when you are 1337 h4x0r you need to stay on top of the shit or else you will get PWND!!!11!1!

I keep most of my data on my /filez partition and have a bunch of symlinks in my /home/ebb directory to various portions in there.

/filez/mp3z: Mp3 collection (albums in their own folders)
/filez/oggz: Ogg Vorbis collection (again, albums on their own)
/filez/m4az: guess
/filez/vids: videos, seperated into shows, a "funny" folder with comics (Bill Hicks, Dana Carvey) and little video snippets, a music videos folder and a trailers folder.
/filez/wmaz: guess
/filez/modz: .MOD, .MTM, .S3M, .XM and .IT files I grabbed way back when I was collecting mods/demos.
/filez/werky: School work, any projects I'm working on.
/filez/stuff: Misc. stuffs.
/filez/torrentz: Home of shared/partially downloaded files and their associated Bit Torrent files.
/filez/Upload: default download directory, also where I direct people logging on to my computer to upload things, as it is a globally writable dir.

And then there's my home directory, which is also stupidly overly organized.

My computer is about as organized as my house. Clothes on the floor, Easter candy from 4 years ago in the cupbard.

I used to spend hours programming, using nix, organizing, reading txt files when i was in grade 6-9.

Then i started smoking weed and i just ended up playing quake all the time and saying "U GOT PWNEZ U MOTHER FUCKIN CHEATSZOR!"

I have 140 Gigs of stuff so if it's not organized i'd never find a damn thing. I have over 25 gigs of music now which is just ridiculous. My downloaded file is full of crap too which is about 3 Gig's but other than that I can find anything I want in a couple of clicks.

I am precisely the same way. I have 60GB or so of music all in properly named folders (thanks to foobar2000, *pimp*), probably 30GB in my download folders, and miscellaneous stuff all across both hard drives. Every once in a while I decrease the entropy, but it seems to be steadily outpacing me. <_<
