well i wouldn't let the opinions of one jackass influence my feelings towards her entire country. This woman is an extreme case, her opinions definitely don't represent any kind of majority of the american people. Even most of the republican party have disowned her. Americans seriously need us as friends right now. While it may sound extreme there are warning signs everywhere that the US is moving more and more towards fascism.

Just look at the US elite in government. From Cheyney, to Rice, to Bush himself or even his most recent appointment of Carlos Gutierrez the line between corporation and the government continues to blur.

1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism.
Do I need to explain how patriot the US is?

2. Disdain for the importance of human rights.
A recent report from the Red Cross described how the US is torturing the illegally held prisoners at Guantonomo Bay. A seperate report from Amnesty International has described how the US prison system is defined by human rights abuses just as bad as those at the Abu Ghraib prison.

3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.
Islam and Arabs? The War on Terror?

4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism.
Have any of you been to the States recently and seen the yellow ribons? On every second car.

5. Rampant sexism.
It could be argued that sexism is a lesser or greater problem in US society at large. However it's not very hard to see that's a problem within the US elite. Quite simpky there is a very large majority of men in power and white men at that. Take away Condi and the Bush cabinent is looking very white and very male. Look at corporate CEO's, maybe 1/100 is a woman.

6. A controlled mass media.
Well not really, they do have CNN to balance out FOX... oh shit.

7. Obsession with national security.
The Department of Homeland Security???

8. Religion and ruling elite tied together.
Well it's not like Bush got elected by claiming to be a fundamentalist Christian that opposed gay marriage or anything like that.

9. Power of corporations protected.
Do I even need to explain?

10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated.
Through anti union legislation and globalization union's have shrunk to somewhere in the range of 12% of the US work force from around 55% in the 70's.

11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts.
Not yet I wouldn't say.

12. Obsession with crime and punishment.
The highest per capita and total prison population in the World. Nearly the highest rate of executions second to China in the World. TV shows like COPS and Oz.

13. Rampant cronyism and corruption.
Haliburton getting billions in contracts as soon as Cheyney gets elected. Enron, Worldcom...

14. Fraudulent elections.
