The UN estimates that if the G8 gave 0.7% of their GNP in international assistance for the next 10 years that world hunger/poverty could be eliminated. This is easily related when compared to the upward mobility allowed by health care and public education in Canada. Contrast this with the US spending roughly 10% of their GNP on their military. To put this in context the US and UN have both said that failed nations present the worst security threat to the entire World. Now the reality is that many of the problems in the 3rd World have been caused direcly or indirectly by the G8 nations. I could go on at length about this but I'll leave up to you to all of you to look into this yourself. Well Senior, I think we need to take a hard look at history and take liberal idealism down a notch. It’s very unreasonable to think that every race and culture can attain what the West did.
1. As for sweeping generalizations, I think it’s pretty obvious when you consider that while we decry the ‘evils’ of imperialism onto Africa from the Western countries, one must say that the European masters were paragons compared to any number of African despots that have taken their place who go through villages to rape, maim, or collect genitals to sell as commodities (eww). Is it such a coincidence that once the whites leave a black African country that the fecal matter hits the fan very soon afterward? Look at South Africa, the new rape capital of the world. Look at Zimbabwe, facing a country wide famine. Look at Haiti, where upon declaring their ‘freedom’ by massacring the French ruling class they are the poorest republic in the Western hemisphere with only a single leader surviving his term with all the others either being hacked or beaten to death. A few were blown up too. Every single Black Country (without exception) has tremendous levels of violence and low levels of development. Hell, so do most black neighborhoods. Basically we have to let things happen organically. Democracy is a Western ideal, and we have no reason to think it will work especially with all these false starts. Normally, they don’t have the co-operative spirit to co-exist with large amounts of people and killing seems to be a habitual thing. 2. As for AIDS, if you have a whole generation of young people doomed to the disease, what sense does it make to pump them full of drugs just so they can survive long enough so they can become child soldiers and rape an entire village or have multiple partners? Some scientists say that AIDS originated with the monkeys, and given the mating habits of these people (did I include the goat fucking link from the BBC?) it’s not hard to see how it was transferred. I would venture to guess that before European intervention the people who caught the disease would die, and at most would probably transfer it to their offspring but they wouldn’t survive long enough to transfer it to others. What we’re doing is giving people artificially long life just so they can pass it along thus infecting others. Same thing with food. In every prosperous African country, you’ll find that it’s white farmers exclusively feeding the region. The African people are hunter/gatherers (?) with a few regions having domesticated their animals. Point is, even when we try to teach these people how to farm they won’t do it. We have to let things take their course. Without Western intervention they wouldn’t have these massive populations, and subsequent famines. 3. I wouldn’t worry about Al Qaeda. What could a Stone Age African nation do to us? They wouldn’t have a cruise missile that’s for sure. It would not be worthwhile for Al Qaeda to come in because there would essentially be no infrastructure and they’d have to build up the country themselves. 4. Europe being ‘rebuilt’ was simply a Europe reverting back to its natural state. When whites leave Africa, the same thing is happening. There’s no way you can compare Africa to Europe, totally different races and cultures.
