I had last night
the most wonderful dream
on which I soared amonst
golden clouds fliting about in an
undiluted sunset sky
and I gazed at the world through a raptor's eye
and for a brief moment I felt freedom
and victory
and warm, and safe
as if the earthly cares that bind me
had been shed away and left to fall
upon a dusty plain so many miles below
left exumed and examined
while i circled from above...

can this freedom be so easy,
to take when I will,
can I don feathers so light
that the merest whisp of a wind
can carry me beyond the line
of a cloud drenched sky,
leaving behind my mortal mind

we shall see.
