Question For The Techies

Is it possible to run an internet signal from my lap top to my PS2? I have a wireless signal going into my lap top and a cable going from my lap top to my PS2.

The thing is I don't have a wireless router. I'm stealing or you could say borrowing my neighbors signal. So again all I have is my lap top with an incoming 11mbs signal and a cable between my lap top and PS2.

Thanks!!!

you can probably do it with ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).

Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon in your System Tray and select Open Network Connections.

Right-click Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.

Select the Wireless Networks tab.

In the Available networks list, select the network name you are connecting to and click Configure.

check if its Encrypted..if it is then u can't steal it..or if its an secured network...if its not its ur for the taking

If he's running XP he can set it up with the Connection Wizard so that "Computers" can access the internet through it. I hate Hetrogenous Peer-to-Peer Networking...

thats kind of what ICS does. ;)

also, from playstation.com:

" There have been conflicting reports on whether or not ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) works with PlayStation 2 network games. Can you confirm either way whether or not it works?

Yes, Internet Connection Sharing does work with PS2 network games. As long as you use the correct cables in the right places and configure Internet Connection Sharing correctly you should have no problem. However as with any software based solution your computer's configuration could affect things. "

Translated: However as with any Microsoft product it's a crap shoot and hours upon hours of tweaking before it fucking works properly even if for a couple days before a blue screen of death occurs...
