are flowers on valentine's day cheesy?

I think that unless you are with somebody that youve been involved with for awhile a big bouquet of flowers is kindof tacky. A single rose seems so much nicer for a date...and it costs way less. I mean if your with a girl whos into material stuff then yeah i guess your stuck paying an arm and a leg for a bunch of roses that are probably going to be thrown out. Flowers are nice to get..but id much rather get a rose and a box of CHOCOLATE.

they can be. a little inventiveness is neccessary. get s.o. favorite color, or favorite flower, or a bouquet of something else they love, like balloons.
i dont think roses completely cut it anymore, unless its a single one OR one of those crazy colored ones.

paired with something else, they add that old styl romanticism to any valentines gift. i think they are sweet, especially, if you pick/cut them yourself, and create your own bouquet.

Hell yes I'm giving some to my awesome girlfriend of six years.

Regardless of how much they swear they're above it, all girls would secretly love to get a big bunch of flowers with their name on the card. Even better if you send it to their work, 'cause then all their coworker girls get jealous. The bigger and more expensive the bunch, the better. You can get a fantastic bunch of flowers for like $30 or $40 - and don't get them from the "1 doz longstem roses for $12" guy either, 'cause you can totally tell.

It doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to, just do it and shut up.

I found a rose that was painted with flower spray or whatever its called. Was a blue rose with like purple sparkles, just one to cheer up a pal. It seemed to work

I find flowers work more for bringing people up than showing them your love. Though of coarse it works for that too

i dont think it is cheesy but roses are kind of overplayed but i still love them. maybe instead of getting the girl roses you could get her favourite flower...and ive seen people fold flowers out of paper, now thats even more sweet...:) and you should probably have a little something else to go with it...

girls pretty much always like getting flowers but just make sure its not the only thing, and dont just give roses unless those are actually her favorite flowers.

^ This is all true. But also, don't JUST give flowers on Valentine's (or any special occasions) - that's what makes it cheesy!! Because you're just going with what your supposed to do. Why not give them at a random time instead of just the required time? The impact is way more effective; it will mean a lot more. Of course this doesn't exclude giving a Valentine's gift either.

roses, so played out unless youre getting engaged/married. try exotic/tropical flowers instead.
