It's not uncommon for professionals from North America to be offered jobs in the UAE and Dubai. Especially teachers and medical professionals. There are stories of nurses from here going over there and having a salary of $150,000 USD, while their room and board is covered in their contract as well.

PS - That is salary after all negotiated taxes too.

This is the world's first 7-star hotel. It's so nice they had to create a new category of rating for it. I believe two more 7-star hotels are being built in UAE right now, one of which is completely underwater.

kay, I heard what I think might have been a bit of an urban legend about a hotel in AE or Saudi that was in the middle of nowhere and was built using huge amounts of Isreali money basically to smuggle Jewish people / spies / something like that out of a country. Anybody else hear about that?

No idea i'll ask my friends back there. they prolly would know something about that, crazy tho cuz jews arent very popular in alotta arab countries, u know with the whole Israel vs. middle east thing.
