what kind of photography are you into werdyboy?
i'm more into black n white but i've started experimenting with color slide film (as opposed to color film...because color slide film produces more vibrant colors).

i work with this girl who's an up-and-coming make-up artist...and we're teaming up. she'll do the makeup for the models and i'll take pictures...that way we both can build our portfolios. They threw out a whole bunch of kid mannequins at work..so we're gonna try to incorporate them into our photos. We just need a good location...

no i know what you mean. i personally find color photography to be...less...artistic?? It's hard to explain. I think black n white prints convey much more. Then again that's just my personal opinion. With all that said, my favorite photographer only shoots in color and her portfolio is AMAZING (to say the least). I just got her book for christmas...after 2 years of asking...i finally got it. "Redemption" by Floria Sigismondi. she also has a website www.floriasigismondi.com I'm into more surreal pictures. That's what I want to get into actually...fashion photography with a surreal twist

i did more//
than half my photo project tonight
the subject was "Creative Flash and B setting Photojournal Assignment" it was such a bitch, not to have a cable release, but i lived i guess. i did some cool ones of candles being burnt out wiht drops of water...hopefully that will work out..i'm going ot do some night shots tomarrow night at Lonsdale Quay of boats passing by, and maybe some of the cars on the highway or something...hopefully it will all work out!

Everything I've done I've taught myself how to do.
but I'm going to school in September so that I can get more proffessional training. It'll cost about $6000 for part time not including supplies...I'm thinking that it'll cost me about $7000 by the time all expensenses such as supplies and everything are taken care of. whoa dude...you're really talented especially considering it's all self taught. i'm sure there's scholarships that you could apply for for next year to reduce tuition. I'll scan some of my photography in later on today and post it.

ooooooooo~ i love Photography =)
i have a bachelors degree from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design with a major in photography! i started my own photo business back in 1996 called Silverfish Studios, i do parties, weddings, head shots, portraits, photo restoration, colour/b&w printing, cyanotypes, van dykes, electrostatic photographic transfers, duratrans, pin-hole photos, film processing, etc. we should do a photo shoot together! i also teach photography as an artist in residence (i bounce around districts from school to school teaching alternative processes and photodocumentation). my work is usually either 35mm or 120mm film (colour, b&w or slide) but i also use much larger films like 5x7 or 8x10 sheets of film. some of my photos are online at http://members.fotki.com/silverfish anyone interested in doing a group photo day???? email me at [email protected]

yeah i'm in the process of getting my portfolio together to send off to ryerson and parsons....any suggestions?? they're not asking for strictly photography...so should i have a variety of mediums or should i have a portfolio consisting of only photographs?? i'm so scared/confused/almeoaimeopmaime about the whole thing

as for me i know nothing about taking pics...well i know how to use my camera (thank gawd cause its all manual) but other then that..i just like pics taken of me. its too bad casue i have soooo soooo SSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO many ideas for photos. :219: b/w pics are better then colour...they show so much more when it comes to depth of light n' such.

hmmm... today i sat down with my art teachers and decided what i should start organizing for my grade 12 year and they told me most of the work i will be doing will be just slides and pictures of my work.. and they recommend me get outside of school lessons in studio picture thingys... oh my. i'm keen on my art and design stuff but pictures? i remember taking photography in grade 9 and i harsh slacked off... i don't even remember how to do stuff in the darkroom anymore... it would really suck if i have a wicked mural...but the photo makes it look like crap. must learnnnnn...
